BPJS Kesehatan adalah merupakan badan usaha milik negara (BUMN) yang bertanggung jawab dalam masalah jaminan kesehatan di Indonesia. BPJS atau Badan Penyelenggara Jaminan Sosial Kesehatan yang dulunya bernama PT Askes (Persero) ini senantiasa memberikan layanan terbaik pada seluruh masyarakat demi terwujudnya masyarakat Indonesia yang maju dan mandiri khususnya dibidang kesehatan. Program Jaminan Kesehatan Nasional yang resmi berganti nama pada tanggal 31 Desember 2013 ini mewajibkan seluruh masyarakat Indonesia tanpa kecuali untuk dapat bergabung supaya mudah untuk mendapat pelayanan kesehatan secara maksimal. Cara pendaftaran BPJS Kesehatan sangatlah mudah yakni hanya datang ke kantor BPJS terdekat kemudian mengisi formulir yang telah disediakan oleh petugas atau pegawai yang bersangkutan. BPJS Kesehatan bersama dengan  BPJS Ketenagakerjaan (dahulu bernama Jamsostek) merupakan program pemerintah dalam kesatuan Jaminan Kesehatan Nasional (JKN) yang diresmikan pada tanggal 31 Desember 2013.
BPJS Kesehatan sendiri sudah mulai beroperasi sejak tanggal 1 Januari 2014, sedangkan BPJS Ketenagakerjaan mulai beroperasi sejak 1 Juli 2014.
